The care and support we provide to veterans should equal the care they have provided to our country.
When US veterans return from military service, they often face barriers to secure employment, stable housing, and access to high quality health care. As they transition home to serve and lead families, communities, and businesses, many veterans seek a bridge from their military careers into fulfilling civilian life. Comprehensive supports can play a vital role in overcoming barriers during reintegration and beyond.

Areas of focus include:

Successful Reintegration
It is not just veterans who serve – families serve as well. We invest in efforts that help veterans and their families through counseling and peer-to-peer community-based supports, money management and credit building resources, and pathways to stable housing and home ownership.

Health and Well-Being
Despite support from the nation’s largest health care system, veterans and their families often must learn to navigate a complex health system. We will support organizations that ensure veterans and their families access affordable, high-quality health care. We will prioritize funding for programs that provide support to veterans with physical disabilities as well as mental health care—including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Workforce Opportunity
While the US military hosts some of the best workforce training and career development programs in the country, it can be difficult for veterans to transition their leadership and professional experience. RLDF will invest in organizations and programs that support career and technical education for skilled trades; the pursuit of two and four-year degrees; as well as veteran entrepreneurship for small businesses to high-growth businesses by providing access to the technical, relational and financial capital they need to succeed.
