Elizabeth Bynum Sorrell brings ten years of experience in mixed methods research and facilitation design to her role at the RLD Foundation. Elizabeth completed her PhD in Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she developed a passion for community-centered research while studying noise pollution and gentrification in Mexico City.

Most recently she worked for the Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University, providing research and technical assistance to State government agencies and community organizations to increase access to public benefits.

Across her professional and community work, Elizabeth is motivated by the belief that expanding economic opportunity and addressing economic inequality requires systems level change. At the RLD Foundation, she is excited to support the Foundation’s understanding of the communities its grantees serve, and to help them use data and research to meet their goals.
